The Kernewek Lowender festival is held biennially. It celebrates the traditions, culture and heritage of the Cornish ancestors. It also means “Cornish Happiness” which is what the Cornish migrants felt when they migrated to the towns of Moonta, Kadina and Wallaroo. You may see Maypole and Furry dancing, street parades, markets and exhibitions. See participants dressed up in traditional costumes such as Cornish Jacks and Cornish Jennies. Try a traditional Cornish pasty and/or a Swanky beer while there. Make sure to book your seat or you will have to wait two years for the next one.
